About Us
Welcome to our school.
I have taught at Feltham Hill I&N school for 38 years and been the Headteacher for 8 years.
We have a very stable staff with many being here for over 10 years.
We were graded Outstanding by Ofsted in February 2016. Ofsted returned in January 2023. We remain Outstanding and are looking forward to them coming back.
We are passionate about our vision and ethos, which is to develop the whole child. This is well embedded throughout the school from Nursery through to Year 2 including in our specialist Centre.
We have a clear curriculum intent and implementation to achieve this vision and ethos. In our school, we use ‘busy learning,’ so pupils can practice knowledge and skills across the curriculum in the inside and outside learning environments.
We also organise real experiences called enrichment to make the curriculum meaningful for pupils.
These have included:
- Diwali dance workshop for Reception and the Centre
- dressing up as significant people in History in Year 2
- Irish dancing as part of learning about the UK for Geography in Year 1.
As leaders, we are proud to have an ambitious curriculum, designed to give our pupils, particularly disadvantaged pupils including pupils with special educational needs & disability (SEND), the knowledge they need to take advantage of opportunities, responsibilities and experiences in later life.
The impact of this is that our pupils achieve highly compared to national expectations, at the end of Reception and Year 2. More importantly, they are prepared for the next stage of education. With a smooth transition from Reception to Year 1 and Year 2 into Year 3 (usually Oak Hill Academy).
It is important to send your child to school every day and on time. We are aiming for 95% attendance. It helps children get used to routines and feel settled if they attend every day.
We will work closely with you while your child is at school.
There will be:
- Induction meetings
- Phonic workshops
- Parent meetings
- Year group assemblies
We will also invite you in for celebrations and performances. This will include Christmas performances for Year 1 and early years as well as a Year 2 concert before the pupils leave us.
If you have any queries, you can talk to your class teacher or support staff member at the door daily. If queries are still not resolved, please email the office to make an appointment with the year leader and class teacher. If there are still concerns, you can meet with the Deputy Headteacher, the Assistant Headteacher or myself.
Kind regards
Angela White
