Premises Manager 

Required for late April/early May start

Salary: £35,982 p/a (incrementing annually to £38,058 p/a)
Grade: Scale SO1, point 21 (incrementing annually to point 25)
Contract: 36 hrs p/week, 52 weeks a year.  28 days annual leave (increasing after 5 years' service)

Hours: 10am - 6pm (Mon-Fri – 45-min unpaid lunch break). Flexibility required during school holidays when start and finish times may differ.

Are you practical, proactive, and ready to take on a hands-on role in a supportive and dynamic school environment?  Our outstanding infant and nursery school is looking for a dedicated Premises Manager to start late April/early May to ensure our premises, grounds, and facilities remain safe, clean, and welcoming for our pupils, staff, and community.

About the Role 

As Premises Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the school grounds and buildings, overseeing repairs, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. You'll manage maintenance contracts and budgets, carry out routine checks, and even tend to our gardens and outdoor learning spaces. With responsibilities ranging from DIY tasks to project management, this role is varied, engaging, and vital to our school’s success.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking someone with:

  • Proven experience in site management, maintenance, or a similar role.
  • Practical skills in minor repairs, gardening, and general maintenance.
  • Physical fitness to handle manual tasks and work in various weather conditions.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH, asbestos management, and Legionella checks.
  • Excellent organisational skills, IT skills and the ability to work independently and manage budgets.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to supervise cleaning staff effectively.

Experience in a school setting and relevant qualifications in facilities management or health and safety are desirable but not essential.
